Passenger Window Won't Move
My passenger window is currently stuck in the up position. Neither driver's side nor passenger's side switches work. Driver's side still functions properly.
The first thing I checked, after having been fooled before, was the window lock switch. The passenger window does not move with the lock in either position. I also checked the 20A fuses under the dash. Both the DR and AS fuses are intact and seated firmly.
I recently removed the rear interior in preparation for soft top removal and roll bar installation. The window problem seemed to occur around the time I removed the interior. I couldn't say for sure if it was slightly before or immediately after, but it was before the soft top removal. I removed the rear center console including trunk switch and accessory socket, but have since plugged them back in and verified that they are working. This did not make a difference for the window.
Before I go tear apart the door and pull out a multimeter, is there something obvious I am missing here? Is there some wiring in the rear that I may have accidentally disconnected or cut while dismantling the interior? If one of the switches is broken for some reason, would it stop the other switch from activating the window?

i'm not super familiar with this car yet, but as far as i can tell the wiring goes into the door from the grommet in front? on an 01 i would guess that the window motor went bad or something of that sort would be more likely.
That's what I'm thinking, too. Nothing looks wrong with the tubing and grommet in the front of the door. I guess I can check under the dash there, otherwise I guess I need to test the motor. Strange that it would just happen to fail while I'm doing this other work, though.
Update on the situation:
Using the convertible control unit input test procedure in the manual, I was able to short out a couple of pairs of connections on the wire harness and get the window to go down and then reverse the connections (changing the polarity) to get the window to go back up. So the good new is that everything in the door works (window motor, regulator, cables, etc).
This seemed to point to a bad convertible control top unit. Fortunately, I have another S2000 at my disposal and swapped the convertible control units. The bad unit from the original car did indeed disable the passenger window from the donor car. However, the good unit only let the passenger window go down in the problem car. It would not go back up. I also swapped the driver's side switch which contains the window control unit, in case that was also bad. It made no difference. The window would still go down, but not up. I swapped everything back and the donor car worked perfectly again.
So it seems a bad convertible control unit might be stopping the window from going down, but what could possibly stop it from going up?

I am in the same situation as you. The story with my car is to get the passenger window to roll down, I would have to pull the top down. To roll the window back up, I would have to turn off my engine, remove the key, and then put the key back in. Does this mean i have a bad convertible switcth too?
i have only removed my passenger panel to install speakers. Also for some ridiculous reason, people love to slam my door after they have gotten out. Could this possible cause the problem?
