Default Passive VS Active Alarm?????

hey folks

for you folks that own an s2000 already. what is the difference between the active and passive alarm system.

they are trying to sell me that option for about $600.00 at the dealership.

I mean is it worth it or not?

I don't think that is an option you have to buy. It's just a switch on the unit that changes between modes. Passive arming is when it automatically arms the alarm if you disarm it and don't open any doors for a certain amount of time. Active arming leaves it up to the human to forget to arm it.

I think he's trying to sell you the alarm system itself. The car only comes with a remote that locks and unlocks the doors remotely, but has no alarm.
