Seems interesting, but I would be concerned about a few things. Namely, police or insurance agencies somehow acquiring the ability to interrupt and see your GPS info, including speed. But I am just paranoid like that...
I wonder though, is it compatible with ZR3?

You don't need to worry about that: it's simply not possible. GPS receivers listen to GPS signals; they don't transmit. (That's not the case with that OnStar system, of course.) HPH

Agreed, only problem is, ALL of us, know where cops hang out in our local area. Its the non-local areas we need to worry about.
Around here, they can vary pretty widely. It's not so cut & dry.

Again, I think if the tech works as advertized and with time you can train the detector so that whenever it does give an alert it is most likely a cop then you will be more keen to listen to it instead of ignoring it or it being a nuisance.

What mode do you run your V1 in? Once I put mine on Logic I never went back. I rarely ever got a blip out of my V1 that wasn't a cop.
Mine is running in all bogeys mode all the time. Perhaps I should try one of the L modes.

The 9500 can also count sources.

So if that supermarket on 3rd St and Crank Ave always falses with two bogus signals, you can mark the location.

If a THIRD signal pops up (as in a cop hiding in a known false alarm area) it will alert the driver.

Now with a marked speedtrap, I am curious as to what it does - does it warn the driver, or go into full alert mode? I would assume it chirps or makes some reminder noise like my GPS when approaching a revenue collection site.

Nice feature. It supposedly keeps track of your speed and will print out reports for court purposes, but I really doubt a judge will give much consideration to this device.

For the record, I'm a V-1 owner. And although I love my V-1, the addition of the GPS features and speedtraps/camera databases really get my interest.
My point exactly. This tech combined with what the V1 already provides would make it untouchable.

Exactly. It's a receiver only. You need not be afraid until they make one that transmits signals as well.

L mode or not, my V1 alerts me every time an Infiniti FX series gets within eyesight.

90% of the falses are just Infiniti SUV's, most of the rest are K-band door openers. Less than 1% are actual real alerts from cops.

This is in the city. When on the road trips, it sniffs out cops quite readily and falses a helluva lot less.

I can not see Mike Valentine NOT responding to this new technology quickly. I just hope they do it quick before I get the urge to own this bad boy.

Dont jump the gun. The V1 is PROVEN. Until the 9500 proves itself, its just a gimmick.

Like I said, as of right now, the V1, IMHO, is still the king of the radar jungle.

I'm pretty sure the 9500i will be a decent detector. What would be kick-ass is a detector with a screen and maps like the Nuvi - and arrows.
