Default passport SR7, 8500, ZR3, SRX?

I've been reading the forums on these and had one question that seemed to be unanswered.

I see some use the SR7 in combo with the ZR3 laser jammer.

Some also use the 8500 in combo with the ZR3 laser jammer.

Lastly there is the SRX which does both so there's only one unit.

My question is what is so special about the SRX that the ZR3 doesn't offer other than the fact it's a built in radar detector?

Also, which is better, the 8500 or the SR7?

I have the 8500 in combo with the ZR3 laser jammer.

I like the convience of having the option of upgrading the radar detector when ever a newer model comes out. With the SR-7 your stuck with the radar jammer that came with the system. In case a 8600 ever comes out or the authorities change their radar frequencies etc. Lastly, the 8500 + ZR3 combo can be had much cheaper. If your gonna be at UBAB sat you can check it out.

Upgrading you radar end will be done on these remote systems(SRX - SR7) by returning your control unit(the part that's powered and everything plugs in to under the dash) to Escort for the upgrade if need be, the same as the people that use a V1 have to do now for the PoP upgrade.

I just noticed that Escort no longer has the SRX and SR-7 on their website. Have they stopped production.
