Default Passport vs. V1

I now own both... Just received my 8500 today... Haven't used it yet.

I have 2 vehicles and wanted to test-drive the 8500 to compare for myself-- but I'm wondering if anyone else has tried both and what your thoughts were?

Initial Thouhts: The Escort is reallllly cool with its interface and programability... mind you, the V1 is also programmable. Aesthetically, the 8500 is beautiful-- far superiour to the V1.

I've come to trust my V1, and its no slouch on performance. Time will tell on the 8500.

First Impressions after using it for the first time today:

WOW! This thing rocks. I turned off X-Band for city mode-- I didn't get one false alarm (no X band is used here). The programability is soooo freaking easy.

More to come, but so far, this is much more friendly than my V1. Time will tell as far as detection goes.

I bought the Passport at Ultimate Electronics for $269.99.
I know several people with the V1 so I'll try to do a side to side comparison.
