PIE-AUX adapter for a MY04?
Anyone know if there was any change in the stock head units that would make a PIE-Aux adapter not fit or function properly? I just purchased an XM Commander for MY04 and I can't find any info about the PIE unit working or not working on it. I emailed PIE and haven't herard anything back.
Thanks for anty info!

Won't work. MY04 aparently has a new 14 pin connector plugged into the radio that is wired to a connector in the trunk for the optional XM satellite receiver, according to the service manual. Sure, you could unplug it, but it doesn't match the connector on the HON-AUX that the dealer sent me. It's going back! Steve
NOW you tell me!
I got tired of waiting and bought an Alpine 9815 that will be able to interface/control the IPOD when the interface module comes out this summer. And it sounds 100% better than the stock radio. So I'm glad that it took them this long to find something that works. Thanks for the info though. Steve

don't yet have my S (grrrr....) but it's not too soon to explore my audio options, meaning, XM is top priority. I think I've figured out a good way to keep the stock HU at a reasonable price...
Honda Automotive Parts has the factory XM receiver for $230 and the bracket for about $30. no questions asked this would plug in to the 14 pin thing. However, the Honda OEM XM antenna is lame and way overpriced. Better to get one of these,

but be sure to add the splitter attachment at the bottom b/c the Honda XM receiver is an old skool green/yellow double lead. All told, about $300 to keep the stock HU in the 04 and have the neatest antenna solution. If you're ebaying your old existing tune from your 01, obviously, that'll end up cheaper.
Another solution is to get that PIE and use it with your existing pioneer or alpine tuner (may require an additional cable, logjam has blitzsafe solutions that claim to do the same thing). This could all get cheaper in a while because all the various branded XM tuners (pioneer/alpine/sony) are going to be replaced with a less pricey "universal tuner" that can be used by all of 'em.
