Default PIE aux connector hookup?

Just leased a 2006 S2000 today. I have the PIE aux-in connector ordered and wondered if anyone has been able to hook it up to the OEM radio without taking the radio out of the dash? Could I just take one the panels off the side of the center console and get to the back of the radio that way? I am trying to take apart as few panels as possible... Thanks

I dont think its possible. If I remember correctly, the plug for the CD changer is on the right (passenger) side.

Here is a good write up on how to get to the factory stereo.

I put in a USA spec ipod input it works very well. It cost $100 from Crutchfield with a $20 coupon code found on fatwallet.com.

I ended up buying a mini din-8 extension cable that plugs into the ipod cable so I could leave the ipod locked up in the glove box. $4 plus shipping.

Thanks for the reply- great link to the install. Since there is a big metal bar behind the removable side panel it looks like my idea is out. I was trying to avoid having to remove the center console as it supposedly gets in the way of replacing the radio door panel on 05/06 cars.
