I did a search and found a post from a guy that said it fit fine with no problems, there were even pics but they didn't work. But I also found a lot of people saying it wouldn't fir during the search. So who do I believe? Obviously if a guy has pics of it in his car working, then I guess he's right.

Anyway, I have this unit, and just wanna know if it will fit in an s2000 if I get one.

if it's the one i'm thinking of (silver with another face behind the first one) then no....i tried to install it in mine and it hit when the front face slid down.......

 

Ya thats the one... Hmm...I agree that I think it would hit...just curious because someone on the board posted with pics saying they had no problems at all...

 

Not sure if this means a lot but I just installed a Pioneer DEH-MP940P and it fit just fine. This is the Premier version of the 9400 and is a very slick HU. I think you are right- The front face of the 8400 does slide down further than my 940P. If the 8400 does not work, give this HU a chance if you want to stay with Pioneer. It's gonna cost you though as its not cheap! Good luck!

Ya...I know the 940/9400 will fit. Just wanna know about the 8400. The guy PM'd me and said he did a little modification so that the HU tilted upward. This allowed the face now to hit the bottom when it came out. Claimed it was easy to do...

 

I have the 7400, no problems...

 

Is that something like the 8400?
