Pioneer wired DCI should work.. Check on Pioneer's website if it's compatible with the Pioneer wired remote.

Make sure to check out the Premier version of this unit. It appears to be a nominal difference in price and adds both another year of warranty and auto calibration. I have auto calibration on my Pioneer Elite receiver and it is awesome! Not sure how much it will help or hurt in a car but it seems like a nice idea. I

The autocalibration, or auto eq and auto time alignment sucked in my car. I went back to my original settings, its a good idea, just not executed correctly. Wired DCI should work, if not the IR DCI will work, its uses the same remote as the other's in the pioneer line. Its a nice radio, I would get it, if I had a blue tooth phone!

I used wired DCI on my DEH-P7800MP and it works fine. Since your 9800 and my 7800 are 2006 model your should work too.

Premier 860 MP, after using the auto eq and auto time alignment, the system sounded like crap. I bet on a bigger vehicle it would work really well, but I think with the cabin being so small, the auto eq cannot gauge the acoustics too well. Its not the end of the world though, the headunit is still great, and the 9800 should be even better.

Yeah, it did not work too well in my car. Has anyone else used the auto eq and auto time alignment in our car? Curious to see what other's outcomes where.

BTW been trading some emails with Pioneer and it sounds like the blue tooth features should also work with the TomTom and some of the newer MP3 players.
So are they saying you could use the Bluetooth interface to get the audio directions from the TomTom through the stereo?
