yea i know but it cost a fortune to put it in the dashboard cause its so big well thats what the installers told me anways. Just spent like 7 000 on the car with a kit and rims and i am trying to not spend much cause cause still got to pay to get it all on. going to see if theres a way to do it my self that will look like a professional did it.

Too bad you live so far away. I know a person that does custom installs here in Vegas and I can get the hook-up price. I like the idea about mounting it to the hardtop. That would be sick! Just hope it doesnt drop on your head!

I just got a slim PS2 to put in my Honda Pilot. It's nice and small so I have a lot of options of where to put it.

It's hard to say where's a good spot that's easily accessible in the s2k, especially since there's no disc tray. The top portion of the PS2 pops up instead of having a disc tray slide forward.

Would one of hte new slim playstations fit inside the glove box if you trimmed out the edges to slide it in?

I think game systems in cars is about the worst thing a person can do, unless it's a huge vehicle with lots of rear seating, which the S2000 obviously is not.

But to do it right you need to take a few things into consideration.

A) The Playstation 2 needs good ventalation. The trunk is a bad idea unless you can get airflow in there.

B) If the vehicle is moving the disk is going to have read errors and your game play will suck.

C) Swapping disks while in motion should be an option, this makes placement even more difficult.

D) Where do you plan on putting the display? If it's of any usable size it can't really go in the cockpit anyway ...

Now, for cool factor ... you need to get a hard drive in there and use HD Loader. That way you can have nearly 100 games on demand and elimanate issue C. This would eliminate issue B but you'd be picking up an issue of the drive encountering early demise by vibration. I guess you could use a laptop hard drive but the adaptors may be difficult to squeeze into the PS2 HDD bay (much hacking required).

You could also use wireless controllers. Logitech makes good stuff.

well he did mention he dind't want to spend a lot of money.. and everyone elses ideas are way over the top and will cost a lot of money.... and since he's got wheels he doesn't need his spare tire cause it won't work anyways.. so why not utilize that space...

a lot of people put amps in that area.. so why not a ps2

You guys don't have a clue. Put it in the trunk, use the RF controller, use a power inverter connected directly to your battery. The new PS2's have a lid like XBox, not a slide tray like the old PS2's.

Mounting it under the dash on the passenger side... no. You need the thing mounted such that you can put a game disc in. Also, it needs to be mounted as stable as possible in a car like ours.

What's the sense of putting one in our cars? About as much sense as putting $180 set of lowering springs on the car. NONE! However, since I have a monitor cut into my dash and use it for navigation, hooking up a PS2 was no extra work at all. My son watches movies or plays PS2 on long trips and it's great for shows. Just ask some of the NYC guys who played it at Fall Colors.
