Default Please help: stereo stop working

hi folks,
Could someone please help me diagnose a problem with my stereo. It is still an OEM head unit. The battery was dead 2 days ago due to not driving it for 1 week. I then charged the battery and was able to start the car but the stereo wouldn't turn on. The security light was blinking though. After researching on this forum, someone advised to disconnect the battery for about an hour and reconnect it back. I did just that and now not even the security light is blinking. I pressed on the eject button for the CD and I still heard that it is doing something. Is my head unit totally fried? How could test it to make sure that there is still power going into the head unit but it just does not work. I would like to make sure that:
1. my head unit is really dead
2. my connection is still good that I could go ahead and purchase an aftermarket replacement head unit.
Any help anyone could give, I would greatly appreciate it.
Tom

any other advice please ? I checked the 12v outlet on the armrest and it was not working either. Did anyone experience this same problem in the past and how did you solve it? I think it may not have anything to do with my stereo, it's something else that there was not power going to the head unit.

Please help.
Thanks

Pinky, thank you so much for the hint (arm rest 12v outlet). I replaced the fuse and everything is working again. I guess I don't have to replace the head unit yet.
