Pocket PC GPS Setup options
I just ordered a Travroute Copilot 4 for my IPAQ, and I'm trying to decide how to mount it in my car, anybody have any pics of mounting jobs, I've seen two on here so far. Also, how do I go about,
-Hardwiring the adapter without a directwire kit
-wiring the audio output of the pocketpc into my stereo headunit, so i can play mp3s and get voice prompts through my speakers. Thanks

I am also in the same position: I've got an iPaq 2215 and trying to figure out a neat mounting method. I've seen walkabt's setup at the Megameet with the extra power outlet by the passenger leg and I like it a lot. I also like that it plays the sound through the stock radio which means you get both directions and music.
My reservation is that I'm looking for something more discrete with less hardware. The location I'd prefer is the mount the PDA right beside the right driver's vent. But without cutting the dash or some serious adhesive work, I'm not sure how to mount it there.
The next location is to clip it into the vent opening... but I'd lose a vent (um... I do use the air-conditioning every now and then
). And a windshield mount-arm? Eh... I imagine it swaying left to right when diving into corners during a canyon run.
I'm currently looking into this company for mounting options: seidio

If I understand correctly, you want it on the left side below the A-pillar on the vent area? I bought a mounting arm that would have let me mount it where you want it.
It was the Arkon CM58 mounting arm, you need the mount (I would recommend the smallest one for this area). I was thought about mounting the unit on the A-pillar with the wiring down the A-pillar through the hole I drilled for my V1 remote. I would still use the PIE HON-AUX adaptor and then run a thing 1/8" line across and up to the A-pillar and out since a 1/8" is smaller than the 1/8" to RCA jacks I am using right now. The power would run down the A-pillar to the fuse box and I would use the always on slot.
The only challenge I had there was that the pocket PC blocked my vision in that corner and I thought that wouldn't be good for me since I like to go on curvy roads where every bit of visibility would be critical. At the April Tech Day I actually showed off the mount there, then moved it to one that hung from near the rear view mirror to its current position. The windshield mount I had did not move at all. It was the Arkon long model and it was so stiff you have to be Hulk Hogan to adjust it...
Arkon has a ton of mounts, check them out. www.arkon.com BTW that Seidio mount is an Arkon knockoff, most of them are.

P.S. when I bought my CF GPS it came with a vent mount unit, I broke the vents on a company car trying to unconnect the damn thing. They grip and lock in place too well.

Check out RAM mounts. www.ram-mount.com
They work great on motorcycles, and I would expect there auto stuff to be equally high quality.
Perhaps something like this?

I just got one of these for my phone (Treo 300) to put in the S2k. You just put a little coin-sized round metal piece on the back of the phone and then the rubberized magnet goes on the S2000 somewhere (dash?). It may be a sorta cheapy solution, but the little metal plate is hardly noticeable on the back of the phone, and it definitely holds it in place. I got it at RadioShack for $10.
