I had the 6500s in my MR2, and they were too bright for me. I could never get it adjusted so that it was comfortable to listen to and sounded good at the same time.
For the S2000, I went with JL Audio, and couldn't be happier with the sound.

Clarence35,
I have the DB6500 and I feel thay are very bright, but nothing that a good use of the HU EQ or Tone Control couldn't fix. The 6500 Xovers dont let you change the tweater setting like your 6501s.
I have had them for 5 or 6 weeks and over time the Speakers do break in, or my ears do (lol).
Before you rip them out of your doors spend some time working on the settings in your HU.

I just went out to check my settings on the stock HU with the Polk DB6500's. Mine are Bass +6 and Treble 0. This seems to be about right to my way of hearing.
Experiment a little and set your HU to a setting that sounds best to you.
Also this came up before but be sure to use one of your best recordings to make your settings.
I'll be installing an Alpine HU sometime this week and will probably have to readjust these settings assuming all HU's are going to be a little different.
