Polk MOMO MM6 MM465
After viewing conflicting past posts regarding these speakers I still have a question regarding
these two component sets. From what I can gather the current model MM6 can be installed in the doors after removal of baskets and making a custom MDF mounting ring. Is this also true for the previous generation MM465 which is still available??
According to the Polk website the mounting depth is the same for these two but the cutout size is 5-13/16'' for the MM6 vs 5-15/16 for the MM465. I don't mind removing the basket and making a MDF ring but I do not want to cut metal on the door.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
ChuckM

The Polk MM6 is spec'ed at 6.5" but is REALLY 6.75" There will be no need for MDF rings when the new adapters come back from the factory from us.
Otherwise if you can cut the MDF - go for it. They'll fit.

thanks Lucid, I'll be watching for your update about the adapter for the MM6.
but how about the previous generation MM645 which according to Polk
needs 5-15/16" cutout vs 5-13/16" for the newer MM6? Would this 1/8"
greater diameter still work? As I said I don't want to cut any metal.
