Recently my sound system has been cutting out for a few seconds when going over bumps, even pretty mild ones. It's not the CD skipping because the radio does it too. The HU remains lit up, but power cuts out on all 5 channels. My question is, should I go see the installer, or the seller of the amp and HU?

Sounds like it could be the remote wire or a ground. You my want to check those connections. If you paid to have it installed take it back and have them take a looke for you.
