Yup, they fit in the stock baskets(with the backs cut out) just fine. The tweeters are quite large and are a tight fit in the factory tweeter locations...thinking about relocating them for better staging.
Any chance for a pic of the tweeter install? Working towards replacing stock speakers, but I was wondering if it's possible to re-use the tweeter grille, or if you just have to toss it.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but the tweeter is jammed down between the two mounting posts because of its large diameter.

cool, glad these worked out. the a/d/s sound is very easy to live with, and this set sold under the PPI name would seem to offer very good value.

cheers,
phil

Is that something you could take care of by removing a little plastic with a Dremel? Thanks for the picture, btw.

Yes, I definitely think so. A little plastic could be removed from the mounting posts, from the tweeter surround, or both. It wouldn't take much really, I just didn't have a dremel handy at the time.

Yes you can jam the tweeter in there, I used a spacer so that it was closer to the plastic grill for slightly better off axis response.

Then a week later, I cut up the stock pods and mounted them flush with the PPI mounts. The sound is better and less of the "tunnel" effect. Because these tweeters have a low crossover point the sound is smoother and aerier than the first option.

Love this setup. Best speakers for the price. I am still thinking about ways to mount another set in back. Magnets are too large and I don't want to cut metal... Any ideas?

Cool! Got any pictures of your flush mounted tweeters?

Man, I'm stumped on how a second set could be mounted. As far as I can tell, those magnets are just too large for the spaces(without welding/cutting) behind the seats. I actually just picked up a pair of Aura Bass Shakers (25W version) and hope to get them installed this weekend. I have never used a transducer before, but other drivers seem pretty happy with the results so it couldn't hurt to try.

Still thinking about it. Do have pictures, but can't post because I am guest.

Pretty sure you can post pictures.
I've posted plenty of pictures in other sub-forums.

You can post pictures, they just have to be on an external hosting site, like Photobucket.
