Smile Problem with modifry controls, anyone else?

I am having a problem with my modifry controls. When I actuate the speed sensing feature, instead of increasing and decreasing volume according to speed, all it does is increase in volume whether I am accelerating or slowing down.

This is happend to me last winter when I was in Upstate NY and the temps were in the negative degrees. I thought it had to do with the cold. But I tried it today and it does the same thing.

Is it some sort of short on the circuit board?

When I first installed it, it worked like a charm.

Alpine headunit, modifry unit, controls work fine on everything except the speed sensing feature.

Anyone else experience this same problem?

Have you asked Bob at Modifry?

Mine works properly but I have a DIFFERENT complaint. I finally figured out something bothering me -- if I'm using the Alpine HU to search my attached iPod, it'll exit out of search mode if the speed-sensitive volume requests ANY change in volume. Grrr.

So I'll be sitting a light, looking for an album, and maybe have to take off before finding or selecting it. Then I have to start all over again (Alpine Search functions don't recall where it last was) at the next opportunity!

That's just a feature of the Alpine head units. If you change the volume manually with your dash controls it will do the same thing and exit search mode or any other mode you are in and go back to the main screen.

It comes in handy when your girlfriend is trying to change the song. Just turn it up!

I hope my problem is simple. I did send a note to Bob, still awaiting a reply. Thought someone else may have had the same problem.....

Thanks for sharing thoughts....

I had a similar problem with my DCI. Bob replaced the unit no charge.

One thing to do in the meantime, when it shorts out pushing the mute button stops all connection between the DCI and the HU.
