Default problems with fuses

My daily driver is having some problems with it's fuses. The other night I took out my HU to place in to a different car. After doing so my dash lights and my tail lights were out. I knew exactly which fuse it was because this particular fuse has burnt out before. but this time was different...

First couple of fuses I put in burnt out as soon i placed them in. About the 3rd fuse I tried it worked. My dash and tail lights are back on.. but the problem is they wont turn off now... only until I take the fuse out will my dash and tail lights turn off. I can turn off the car, and turn off all the lights but still my dash and tail lights will stay on. I'm completely lost. Any help would be great...

btw, this is a 1997 Honda Accord. Also this car has been broken in to before and the thieves have stolen one of its HU's before. they yanked the HU so hard it ripped some of the factory wires behind the factory harness. I dont think this is the problem though because I have reconnected all the wires. Should I check to see if they're all still connected properly? They're all wrapped in electrical tape, so even if one were not to be connected, it wouldnt be touching any other wires..

Some help would be great. My S is being tortured by the salt on the roads..

You have a short somewhere... and given what that harness has gone through... its gonna be fun finding the problem.

Yeah it would help. You need to start test to find the problem. You can try to look with a light and try to "see" the problem but you might be there a while. A service manual wouldn't hurt... one with a wiring diagram to use for reference.

Honestly it can only be a few things, but find them might take a little time. Good luck with it.
