I am actually reading about the issues, but I don't have any advice since I have yet to do an install on an S2000. Sorry!

It will be worth all the work in the end, though--you've put together a great system!

Well, I found something helpful for getting the wires in the terminals. The Flek's cable doesn't have each individual stand twisted very well, so the wire tends to fray, and also spread out very easily (Not a good thing in my experience so far). I was going to wrap the wires with some thin fencing wire, and then solder them, but then forgot I was using a "Kompression" fitting from them, so i'd have to fray the wire out once I got it through the fitting (Roll it back upon itself basically)

What I did for their wires which has worked AMAZING since then, is take some bailing wire, or other Ultra think wire (It's like 24 gauge solid steel wire), and wrap it around the exposed wiring, and pull it really tight to compress it, and then slide it in the kompression fitting. I've done it 3 times so far, and it's worked amazing and made things ALOT easier.

Just cut my main power cables, to make way for the Monster terminal. No going back now... (sighs)

Well, back out to the garage. Wish me luck. Got my distribution box wired up, now trying to figure out what/how/where I'm going to my mount my amps. (sighs).

I was thinking about taking the stock tool tray, and cutting it in half, so it's half as tall, and then using shallow peices of the tool cutouts to overlay on the top of the halved tool tray (Pretty much just trying to cut height off the thing, so I can put my amps down there, with a false floor on top that's vented), but I'm not comfortable screwing that up, so I'm going to pass on that. I might see if I can find one on the forumsm or if someone here has theirs that they don't use, and wouldn't mind mailing to me, that would be awesome. Maybe give us another way to mount amps, by making the tool tray deeper, but keeping the functionality of the tool foam peice.

(sighs) Hopefully hear some sound today.

It makes noise!! Got my 125.2 hooked up, and running my door speakers. I tucked it over the gas tank, and removed the foam shi- behind it, to give it some ventilation to the space the spare is store in, and the vents behind the drivers seat.

Started putting my trunk carpet in and noticed how many clips I broke. Jesus. I'm missing like 5 in my trunk alone and know I broke atleast another 10 in the cabin. Probably a bad thing to remove those clips in 20-30 degree weather. (shrugs).

Somehow managed to misplace my 8awg connectors. I should have a bunch extra, due to not needing the spades I ordered for my amp connectors (They have a type that you slide the wire in, and then they clamp down on the wire). Can't find them. Missing two spades, and two rings :-s.

Noticed I needed more connectors just recently. I messed up when ordering the proper gauge connectors, and/or didn't order enough 4 ga. I had using 4 gauge for my battery terminal to chassis ground, but didn't order the wire for it. Also had it for the Battery to engine ground, but didn't order wire, or enough connectors for it. I'll figure that out later. I'm considering using my extra 0/1 ga set screw terminal for the battery ground. Who knows. Just more problems to work out, but that's all engine bay stuff.

Sweet--you have some sound!

If you've still got it open, mind taking a quick pic of the gas tank mount? I'm trying to decide where to mount a sundown sax-100.4 and was thinking about there vs the trunk. if it fits i might try up there somewhere. i'm kicking around taking out the rattling plastic tray the top sits in also.

and i can identify on the broken clips and connectors. stupid things. always a PITA to me. i've bought the wrong connectors so many times in the past, you'd think i'd have learned the first time... and IIRC honda wants like $2 or $3 apiece for the easy-break clips--pity i cant just buy in bulk...

I didn't make a mount ontop of the gas tank. I just slid it in. Fits pretty snuggly. If you really want a picture of it though, I can try and take one.

Starting to put my interior back together now. Still toying with the idea/placement of my Sub amp. I'm thinking maybe a slatted wood false floor over the tool tray, but not too sure yet. Got a couple days to decide. I've got my wires easily accesable, so no worries there.

Those clips are $2-$3 each? Are you kidding? I didn't expect them to be that much. I figured maybe a dollar or so each...

Well that was the clips for the wheel well and under the bottom of the car from when I installed a CAI, so let's hope they're cheaper... I'm sure I'll be breaking a few soon.

Would you mind taking a smapshot of the amp in there? I'll be doing the install sometime over the next week or two and was wondering how it fits. My amp is the exact same W x D as yours; it's just 5.5 inches longer, so mine should fit just like yours assuming I don't run out of length.

Ace - here's an above gas tank thread. FWIW, my Boston GT40 is 14" long - I'm
not sure you're getting an amp too much longer than that above the gas tank.

I'm curious if your's will run out of depth. I think mines pretty close, but I'm not too sure, didn't look behind it. I didn't make a board or anything for it. I quite literally slid it in, and called it good. If I have problems with it overheating, then I'll worry about it then.

My kill count for clips wasn't as bad as I thought (Assuming I'm not missing any of the secret hidden clip spots). I broke 7 according to my observations.

Got nearly all my interior re-installed today. Holding off on the door sills, and kick panels.

Most likely going to re-install my seats tonight, and then take it for a drive tomorrow, to see how it sounds. Overall I'd say it hasn't been a bad project... Frustrating at times, but not bad. The sound is overwhelming though. I can only turn my head unit up like 75% max, and I feel like my ears are going to bleed. Really like these speakers. Wish they had a little more bass, but that's what I've got a subwoofer for. Still not sure how I want to mount my sub amp. Going to order some more connectors and hopefully do the Big 3 when I install the subwoofer.
