Default Question about online stores

Why do products ordered from places like www.woofersetc.com and www.onlinecarstereo.com come with the serial numbers removed? Are they refurbs? Stolen? Quality control deemed them second-rate?

I'd wager that they're seconds. That's why they sell them so relatively cheap. When it comes to electronics, you usually wind up getting what you pay for (unlike many other consumer goods).

I got an amp from www.onlinecarstereo.com and the only defect I can see is a small defect in the casting (probably a couple millimeters) but that's it...

They are not authorized sellers of the product and are not eligible for warranty. They don't want you trying to register the serial number with the manufacturer or they would be able to see the source of the gray market goods.

They are probably just factory internal control rejects. Have the SN been REMOVED or just NEVER STAMPED? Also, all warranties are VOID if they are not authorized dealers... like was said above.

good question, not really sure... but even if the item is sold from a non-authorized retailer... where are they getting it from, that they can sell it so cheap? seems shady...
