Default Question on speakers

I replaced my stock deck with the clarion cd player and i noticed that the even with the upgraded deck the headset speakers are still weak almost non existant plus i have seat covers so i know that doesnt help.

One person indicated that i dont want to run the deck on the stock speakers because the ohm on the speakers is a different resistance that what the deck can handle I need 4ohm speakers.

My question is, if i replace the stock door speakers and put a good amp on them will i notice much loss if i do not use the head set speakers at all ? I just want the system to be loud an clear. I am not too concerned with having great bass.

Also, can someone recommend some really good door speakers that will sound nice. Im thinking two way for the 6 1/2 and then a regular tweeter. I figure I want some bass without adding a sub woofer.

Thanks,

I have JL XR components in my car and when it was powered off of the alpine cda-9857 it sounded nice but I wanted it to be louder.

When I added an amp, it sounded much much cleaner and louder. I don't even feel like this car even needs rear speakers. The front stage sounds good as is.

Is JL XR mean JL Audio ? Sorry I am not real familiar with that name.

Also did you do your own door speaker installation ? If so how long did it take ?

Yea I installed them myself. But I needed some speaker brackets made to mount my speakers. The speakers are oversized 6.5" and wouldn't fit in the stock mounting brackets. It didn't take long to install myself. The door panels can be taken off in less than 5 mins.

Yea, JL = Jl audio.
