questions putting in stock radio
The OEM radio has a security code. If you remove the radio or disconnect the battery then the radio is dead until you input the security code.
If you purchased the car new, the sales person should have given you the code (comes on a card the size of a credit card), there is also a metal tag with the code on it. Call the dealer if you didn't get it.
If you purchased it used, then call the person you got it from.

true... i do know of at least a few people who were able to get the radio code via a VIN number however...
i seem to recall reading a thread here where someone outlined a way to get the head unit to echo it's serial number. this would save the time of pulling the head unit out and reading the number off the back.
