Default Questions on speakers and a deck.

I just installed an Alpine CDA 9883 CD player in my car and I was also planning to install a set of Infinity Kappa Perfect components. Would they sound decent if i run them off the deck?

The deck is rated at 18 watts rms, and the speakers are rated at 100 watts rms. My friend keep saying the deck is too underpowered for the speakers.

Another question and its sorta crazy but since the S2K only has two front speakers, can i run both the front left and rear left speaker outputs to my left component for a total of 36 watts rms (18+18) and same for the right?

don't bridge off a headunit , never a good idea... it will provide enough power for the mean time but you'll get distortion at a lower volume than you would when you have an amp , which is key when you've got a convertable.

You definitely do not want to do this. Having two outputs attempting to drive the same load leads to burnt transistors. Also, even if you assume that the left front and rear outputs are sending the same signals (which they don't always do), the output would still be 18W rms.

OK so scratch the idea for bridging the fornt and rear speaker outputs.

But to the first question. Is the factory deck enough to power the Kappa Perfect components?

LOL the power output will remain the same if you try bridging a HU. Reason being, HU amps are actually 8ch amps that are bridged down to 4ch, so if you try bridging it, it just bypasses the internal bridging.

Just finished installing the CDA-9883 and PDX 4.100. 2 channels are running to the two speakers and the other two channels will be bridged for the subwoofer.

Im still running the stock speakers and no sub... so far so good. Ran out of time installing the amp and deck today. Surprisingly the amp fits fine under the passenger seat.
