Quick question before I order the Modifry DCI
I am getting the sony wired DCI for my pioneer HU. Since the pioneer is compatable with it. I was just confused if I need to order the S2000 harness adapter with it as well? Dumb question, but not sure. I am leaning towards the no side.
Thanks,
Jon

his PM's are disabled.

he disabled his PM's because he was getting multiple PM's here and emails as well, often from the same people, but usually w/o any association between the 2 names (screen and email/real). so, there were a number of problems associated with some that confusion.
i re-read your question...
IF you are buying a new HU. and IF you are buying a DCI. you will need BOTH the S2000 harness AND the DCI to get full install functionality. the S2000 harness is what allows you to plug into the OEM wiring. the DCI just splices in and operates the dash controls, it does nothing else to provide power, ground, speaker leads, etc for the new HU.
i hope this helps.

a Metra will work, but you may have to splice into the factory stuff to get the DCI's functionality.
i'd buy some wire taps like these ( http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=082-140 ) from an Autozone or Radio Shack... and just use that to splice into the OEM wiring. that way, you're not actually cutting the factory harness.
i've used these in a few locations and have had moderate to very good success with them. the biggest thing is to make sure you buy wire taps of the proper gauge... don't get them too big or it won't tap into the factory wiring. the 18-22 should work fine.
