Quick Speaker Review: Bazooka RX6S
So a few months ago I had the entire system done up with custom amp rack in the flat tire well, sub in the sparetire area running from a Xtant 300.1 amp, new Sony HU and Infinity Kappa Perfects running from an Xtant 200.2 amp.
Now I listen to all sorts of music, but mostly rock/metal and the Kappa Perfects were BRIGHT. I had the crossovers set to -5db for the tweeters, and I worked on tuning with my installer, and then by myself though the headunit and I just couldn't get them to sound as good as I wanted. After a few months, I got fed up and decided to switch speakers. I looked around and couldn't find quite what I was looking for in terms of sound. Alpine, Focal, Infinity....all my usual brands had let me down and I didn't know where else to look with speakers I could actually listen to before buying, rather than going on people's opinons.
I called my installer and ask his opinion and he said "I've got these new bazooka speakers and they sound awesome." Now at this point I thought my installer had gone insane from sniffing paint and working too many hours, but he insisted I come listen to them in the room before I jumped to conclusions.
So I did....and WOW, they sounded awesome. They were far cheaper than the Perfects, and sounded gorgeous. In my opinion, they sound far better than the Perfects and are incredibly neutral. I was sold. I told him to put'em in my car. He did, and they sounded even better in a closed cabin. I've dynamatted my doors and the speakers hit so solid. The highs aren't too harsh, the mids are clear, and the low-mid bass response is phenomenal. After 10 minutes of tuning through the amp and HU, I was set. Coupled with my sub, I think my s2k has one of the fullest soundsystems I've ever heard in a convertible.
So after trying so many other brands and speakers, I settled on something I never thought I would and am absolutely thrilled with the outcome. If you're looking for new speakers, definitely give these a chance. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask!
