I had a valentine one, and sold it because in the 2 years I had it, it never helped. Cops use laser around my area now, so any detector is useless. Funny thing is I never got a ticket in those 2 years, watch me get one now that I sold it. Valentine has a 30 day free trial and it keeps its value well. I sold mine for 300 to a friend, 400 being the price new. I hear the passport 8500 is also good, but valentine has arrows.

V1, the directional arrows rock. I'm also using a Blinder laser jammer as well. My older 8500 worked well, although false laser warned often. 90% of the time on the interstate if the V1 is going off, you've got a cop nearby.

You didn't miss one From what I've heard they are virtually identical as far as detection goes. The V1 tells you if the cop is shooting you from the front or back, the Passport doesn't tell you this. The V1 costs more, around 100 bucks more I think? To me it wasn't worth the extra money to know where the cop was; if I'm getting shot by radar, I slow down regardless. I have a Passport and it's awesome.

Valentine 1 all the way for me, I love it!! As mentioned though, not much you can do about laser. Fortunately when I have been tagged by lazer I've been doing the speed limit. But, in terms of radar, the V1 is excellent in detection and informing you where it's coming from.

Your statement isn't entirely correct. If a cop hits you specifically with the laser you're done. However, if he hits a car near you, your detector will pick him up and you can slow down.

I have a passport X50 and while I won't touch the V1 vs. the Passport with a 10ft pole, I know that the X50 works amazing and I would recommend it in a heartbeat!
