Radar Detector
I'm sure the "shaky hand" thing explains a lot of the laser light that gets splashed around, for sure. Even though they aim for vertical surfaces (to get the best return instead of all the other scattering I was talking about), they undoubtedly don't always hit it.
And this is exactly why there are no motion-active lidar systems, at least not for law enforcement. It just doesn't work to try to shoot that narrow beam at other vehicles while you're moving. HPH

Thank you so much for all the info. I was doing some research as well..
It seems if you want the ultimate protection, the 8500 and ZR3 jammer is the way to go. It says on their website that the two will talk to each other... what kind of benifit does that give you?
looks like its gona cost me 800 bucks to keep a clean record...
this could be tax deductable, right...

the benefit of using the ZR3 and 8500 together is less clutter. this way, everything is controlled and displayed on a single unit (the 8500 itself). all the shifters/sensors, controls, and the 8500 itself plug into this main control module that you tuck up under your dash.
inside of your car, all you'll see is just the 8500 radar detector. if you get say a V1 and a blinder or something like that, now you have to worry about watching two different displays and listening for two different things.
i found the 8500/ZR3 combo was perfect. nice clean install and minimal clutter. also the ZR3 is one of the best laser jammers out there.
V1 if only for the arrows. I cannot explain how nice it is to have the arrows and to know things like when they are sneaking up from behind on you...
I've used both the 8500 and V1 at the same time. The V1 picked up a piggy shooting Ka a few hundred feet before the 8500 did but both warned in more than enough time ....

The chime goes off, The LED switches from green to red. It's up to you if you want to switch the jammer to off after you get slowed to a legal speed.
