radar detector concealed display on steering wheel
Hey guys,
I just ordered a V1 and concealed display. I'm not solid on how I want to mount the detector yet, but I was thinking about mounting the display to the steering wheel in a similar manner to the cruise control buttons, except on the opposite side (i.e., bolted into the lower left).
Do you know whether anybody's tried this before? Or, do you have any idea whether there's room on the inside of the OEM steering wheel to do this?

I don't think I've seen it mounted there on any S. You might be the first to try. Take lots of photos!
Mine is just sitting at the base of the instrument cluster. It blocks the low fuel and immobilizer idiot lights.

An update on my efforts:
I pulled the airbag off the steering wheel to look around. I was able to make a small metal bracket to hold the remote display unit. However, I'm not sure how to run the power / signal wire. I thought there would be a center tunnel through which I could pull the wire, but instead there seems to be a terminal block containing both the airbag and cruise control wires.
I could run the wires outside the entire structure, but that would require a lot of slack to allow me to turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock. Any suggestions?
