Does the ability of the top radar detectors to pick up different bands change when the software changes?

I guess what I'm asking is whether a 2002 model Valentine One would be better at pick up radar that a 2000 model Valentine One etc.?

I think the answer concerning the V1 is "yes." I talked with valentine customer service about a year ago and they said the spring, 2001 models were "tweaked" to be more sensitive on Ka than previous models.

My V1 is from November, 2000 and it is equal to the Passport 8500 on Ka and K and twice as sensitive as the Passport 8500 on X.
