Passed several Ohio State Highway Patrol cars on Sunday, at least 6 or 8 in a 120 mile stretch. All were running X-band radar. At least half had customers on the side of the road.

I think the V1 can mute X-band pretty aggressively if needed and leave it operational at high signal strengths. I also recall the rear X-band has a separate setting in some modes.

V1 with custom sweeps. Why scan the whole radar frequency when police list what guns they use, the manufactures list what bands they shoot, and us users can program our v1's till our hearts are content.

Not really sure exactly what you're saying. But, if you want to learn more about how the V1 actually scans, and how certain things can be close to but not completely in the Bands, then check out their app on Apple and Android. You can see how it does it on your phone.

That's a good radar detector.

But, my personal feeling, and the feeling of the other V1 owners is, if you are going to buy a radar detector, buy the best only. If it's a little too expensive, save a little longer.

Reasoning is, you don't want ANY little mistake or false or non-waring to get you a speeding ticket. Because that speeding ticket...just one...is likely to cost more than the radar detector did.

Personally don't think Valentine brand is better than the Escort brand, that's an age old debate though. Max gives me what I need, GPS, false signal lockout, speed reading, external APP support, and red light camera alert. Now would I rather top of the line escort? Sure, but is it worth it to me, only time will tell hahaha. I dont hooligan on the street as much nowadays so the Max should keep me safe enough.

Anyone actually use both Valentine and the Escort together?

Generally speaking, using 2 radar detectors in the same vehicle is frowned upon. In order to be able to detect radar, the unit has to generate a small amount of radar frequencies itself. If it does not shield these frequencies from emissions very well, it will interfere with the other radar detector. It can generate false alarms, and also cause problems with the other detector seeing real radar

and when a cop hits you with a gun thats not "properly calibrated" you can get your ticket dismissed.

I have a custom profile on my v1. it still gets confused occasionally by doors, but thats simply because I havent turned off X. KA is rarely tripped by any blind spot detection.

Passport max is great, but I'll put my money on what all the gumballers, bullrunners, etc etc etc use. V1 and Waze.
