Generally speaking, using 2 radar detectors in the same vehicle is frowned upon. In order to be able to detect radar, the unit has to generate a small amount of radar frequencies itself. If it does not shield these frequencies from emissions very well, it will interfere with the other radar detector. It can generate false alarms, and also cause problems with the other detector seeing real radar
OK. Thanks, for explanation.

Forgot to mention that because of this, some of the false signals that you get while driving, are from people in cars next to you with super shitty radar detectors that spew all kinds of emissions

How is the Escort Redline different from the 9500ix?

Thanks!

Well, you probably should look "back", like in back of you, 'cause you got no arrows!

Traded "up"? Hmm....

That article is a complete joke. If it wasn't for the internet and being able to post whatever you want, it would never have seen the light of day.

The ranking of the radar detectors seems to be based on pretty much nothing. No objective tests, no subjective test, no subjective impressions....no nothing.

In fact, it appears the only one he has actually tried is the one he rated number 1. Also, he called the V1 the "One". WTF?

What a joke.

BTW, I'd be saying this even if he said the V1 was the best.

lol

Well... The V1 IS called the "One" Its the Valentine One, Valentine being the brand and "One" being the model.

I got my first ticket after swapping to the Max a few days ago, I was texting and not paying attention, and the cop used instant on radar. I hit my brakes INSTANTLY, but similar to Lidar, it doesn't matter, you'll never be faster than the speed of light.

I'm very much so happier with my Escort Max than I was with the V1. Which is upsetting to say, because I REALLY liked my V1. I had gone through all the instructions, forums and websites telling you how to program the hell out of your V1, and I had done so, was running the latest software etc etc. and it was still just too noisy for my area.

If you live in a very metropolitan area, and drive through the city, even with X band turned off, in full logic mode, pop turned off, only triggering K-band after it gets above 4 dots in signal strength, and probably a few other filtering modes I used that I can't think of right now, I was still muting my unit probably every 5-10 minutes.

The turning point for me with the V1 was that I was so used to it falsing on K-band alerts, that I wouldn't take them seriously, and so after the 2nd time that I muted what I figured was a false alert and then passed a cop, I realized that I need to change my setup, cause I'm no longer taking my detector seriously anymore. I had used that bad boy for 5 years. Going to the Max was definitely a big change, but now I pay attention to my detector again, if it is buzzing, I can be 95% sure whether its a real threat or not. If I'm in an area that I normally traverse, that becomes 100% sure.

I do miss the arrows though.
