Hi

Do any of you use these? Have you got good or bad stories about them - which is the best?

Can you reply so that it is clear which country you are talking about please?

Do a search for V1 or Valentine 1 on this board. Great product. Its really driver preference, but I dig the features of the V1 more than the passports - it tells me direction (front, rear or side), tells me how many, tells me strength, and tells me signal. Doesn't have a dimming feature, that's all I can think of.

check it out at http://www.valentine1.com $399.00 is a lot, but its "insurance".

I'll stand behind the Passport Solo Cordless model. I've owned bigger, bulkier ones before, but I've found that the convenience and portability of the Solo make it the best for me. It doesn't tell you number of radar sources and from which direction they're coming, like the Valentine, but in the end I find I don't really need to be concerned about those things, if I pick up a good signal, I lift off the gas pedal, simple as that. And it's half the price of the V1. You'll find most of the people here are V1 advocates though.

Is it true that these are legal in the UK now?

Actually, the V1 has an auto-dimming feature. It has a sensor on the front that dims it a bit at night. It's not user controllable like some other detectors, but it's better than nothing.

I think the "bogey counter" and directional indicators are very valuable. I've had my V1 for about a year now and I can't imagine going back to another detector that doesn't have them.

Get the V1. The directional arrows are extremely useful. I also bought the remote display so that the main unit doesn't light up when it encounters bogey.

Check the website.

http://www.valentineone.com

I'm not sure if they have the V1 spec'd for UK though.

Send 'em an email and let us know the results.
