Default RADAR and LASER diffusers

I was in Sound Advice the other day, and noticed a RADAR and LASER diffuser system for sale. It promised a RADAR and LASER detector coupled with a diffuser system that would disrupt LASER and RADAR signals so police received a "static" reading when they pinged your car. Has anyone had any experience with this technology? How well does it work? How foolproof is it? Is it worth the $1600 price tag (including installation)?

Blinder makes a good system, and its far less than that. It works well too, my local shop that installs it had a cop try and get a reading off a car they installed it on, he couldnt.

To my knowledge, the Blinder systems are not legal.

In which states?

You're listed as living in Sarasota. Is this where the local shop is? Which shop?

I've read somwhere they dont work--get a V1 if you are worried about tickets--they have been rated the highest detectors by numerous major car mags. I've seen some on ebay for 299+. Laser in NC is illegal for cops to use, so thats not a worry to me, but either way I've read and been told it doesnt work--comeplete waste of money.
