Radio / 12v outlet issue
So the other day I noticed my aftermarket radio wasn’t turning off with the car being off so I manually powered it down, next day it wasn’t turning on so I replaced the fuse for the 12v and radio. It turned back on but now it won’t turn off again, weird thing is when I unplug the dash cam which is plugged in the 12v outlet, it turns off the radio when the car is off. Any idea what could be wrong?
Its clear cam is inappropriately feeding 12v back into charge port.
Radio has 2 fuses. One of them is shared w charge port (if something plugged into charge port shorts and blows fuse, radio also stops working).
Radio power wire, and charge port, are both ignition keyed power sources. Key off, they're off.
Fuse panel also has aux power connections one can use to power aux devices. It has both ign keyed and always on power sources. Cam appears to be wired to both. Powered off fuse panel, but also plugged into charge port.
If you want cam on all the time, like to record people messing w car when parked, etc, you'll need to figure out how its wired wrong.
If you don't care about that, you can power cam off ign keyed source only.
You'd think just plugged into charge port would be all you need. So its weird its also apparently wired to always on power somewhere.
