radio controls with a aftermarket headunit

Default radio controls with a aftermarket headunit

SO is there anyway to make an aftermarket headunit work with the s2000 radio controls without buying that thing that dci thing

Simple answer is no... Even for the DCI to work the aftermarket headunit needs to have remote input either Wired or IR.

well i didnt think their was but i was just checking....cause i wanna get my stuff put in while im on break case i gotta go back to school in june for the summer semester and all and i dont plan on doing any of the instal myself cause i dont trust myself around electricity or wiring at all.

ya shove a fork in an electrical socket once and ya tend to stay away from it.

ha actually their is....i went to mobile one the local audio place that my friends work at and they said well yeah and its being all hooked together right now

I'm intersted to know what they actually ended up using. I'll be surprised if it preserves the current functionality and costs less than the DCI.

Probably the PAC SWI-X, it is about $30 cheaper. And after having both, the PAC unit and DCI, there is no doubt about which is superior.

DCI stands for Dash Control Interface. There are plenty of different dash control interfaces. Alpine make one, PAC make one, and Modify makes one. But you can't make an aftermarket head unit work without one.

And then there's the choice. I think most who've had some experience with different options swear by the Modifry DCI. I've had the PAC unit, S2kman's DCU and the Modifry DCI.
