Default Radio Cover Turns On/Off Audio? Newb Needs Help

Hey all,

New to this S2000, a beast of a machine, but had a quick question. Just noticed that when I either open or close the radio cover, it'll turn on/off the audio. It's super inconvenient sometimes when I want to close the cover but keep the audio playing. Is this how the cover is supposed to work, or is my unit just super sensitive?

Your radio must be mounted too far forward, causing the radio to turn the unit on/off when you open/close the door.

Nope. As stated above, the door is pressing against something.

As stated, seems that the head unit is too far forward. Previous owner probably had an aftermarket HU and took it out and put the stock back in and left it too far forward. That or you do have an aftermarket head unit and it doesn't quite 'fit' with the door closed which means it either needs to be moved back or you have to shave some of the interior of the door cover.

I have an Alpine headunit and the door cover will turn it on/off when I close it. I only close it when the car is outside in a parking lot so it's not an issue for me (the knob on the HU is hitting the left hand side of the interior plastic of the door cover, not enough to stop the door from closing but enough to push in the knob).
