Yeah, I ran into the same problem on my 05 over the weekend!! The radio/vent piece comes off OK, but does not go back on easily without first removing the console cover. Wish I knew that ahead of time, but all online instructions are for pre-04 with the older console. Nothing like a few tense moments when you have just ripped your new car apart....
