Default Radio and speakers

Hello. I have 250lbs out of my S. Does anybody know how to remove the radio and speakers? I cant hear anything anyways with my amuse exhaust.

Also, what is good light suspension brand that will take pot holes and the like?

To get the door speakers out, you have to take off the door panels. Not really experienced with taking radios out of an S, but I doubt it would be that difficult. Any aftermarket coilovers are going to make the ride stiffer. Good sets will most likely make the ride a lot stiffer. I've been in a couple S2Ks that almost bruised my kidneys b/c of their suspension setups. If you live somewhere with bad roads, I would stay away from the coilovers. I'm in the process of lightening my S as well, how did you remove 250lbs?

It's easy. Follow the directions in the service manual.

Go to the electronics forum. If all you're doing is removing the stuff, then you could be finished in 45 minutes.

after my first attempt, i can now pop the radio out in 2 minutes

ap1s are even easier

you would only need a flathead or some bladed tool, and a simple philips

most of the things will be done by popping/pulling because the parts are held on by clips

same with the door. pop a few clips, lift the panel and you can unscrew the speakers off

I agree with the suggestion about asking in the 'Electronics' section. Heck, they may have a "How to.."

pop out 2 lil plastic thingies on the door handle, unscrew the 2 screws inside those lil cavities, unscrew the screw in the door handle area, pop out the lil plastic tab near the front of the door, take out the plastic door handle trim, pull the door out... unscrew the speakers and take out the wiring. (recently installed a set of Infinity Speakers and Tweeters in my garage)

as for the head unit, never tried to take it apart, but will be doing so after getting a new deck.
