I'm looking to install an amp with boston rc620 components[with tweeters stuck on near A pillar]or going with the RM6
speakers.Do the tweeters make that much of a difference in
an open convertible?thanks-stew

Red,

I would say for convertibles, they make MORE of a difference than in hardtopped cars. Why? Hardtops provide a solid surface to bounce the high frequencies off of, whereas the open air lets them walk practically unimpeded out into the stars.

Tweeters will help bring the soundstage closer to you by aiming (directly, or indirectly) more of the higher frequencies to your ears. With the correct setup, you can then position the soundstage where you want it (high, low, driver's side, passenger's side, etc.).

Hope that helps...
