Default RCA & Speaker Wire

Was reading some old posts, such as Speaker Wire

and still have a few questions on RCA & speaker wire.

For running a front components and a rear sub from one 4 channel amp- two channels bridged for the sub- does the RCA configuartion make any diffence?
What I mean is two sets of RCAs (4 wire) vs. a pair of RCA's + a subwoofer RCA (3 wires). I noticed KnuKonceptz has a new sub RCA http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.c...odID=KRY1.4M-KP

It seems the sub would only need a mono RCA...

Any other brand of RCAs besides Knu that I should consider?

For the component speaker wire, who makes 4-wire twisted pairs?

Im confused when you say a subwoofer RCA that is mono. . you should have 2 pair of RCA's running to the back, one pair for the front channels and 1 pair for the sub.

Some suggested brands would be : Monster, Streetwires, Stinger or even consider the amp manufacturer, they may have a high grade kit for you.

That is one of my questions- can a mono subwoofer amp be connected with only one RCA?
I had planned on using a pair of RCAs until I saw this cable http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.c...odID=KRY1.4M-KP

Any advantage?

what amp are you using? That may help clear it up.

I cannot recall a mono sub amplifier, it would be a "stereo" input (2 rca ends) and then you create a single channel on the speaker output.

The item you are looking at is for a home theatre application and not for a car.

If thats for home, that clears up a lot!
I will use a 250/1 JL amp or a Alpine MRP-350 amp.

Anyone have any thoughts on RCA and speaker wire brands?

Thanks,

Yeah, does Stinger or streetwires make a 4 wire cable? What's the advantage of that over just a 2 wire twisted pair? What gauge do I need?

If you are using a JL amp, use the JL amp install kit... its very good.

Otherwise.... Monster, Streetwires, Stinger are good brands

That wire is for home subwoofers. Get their black car cables. They are fantastic.
