Arrow Rear Speaker Choice? Genesis Audiophile

Whadaya think about these as rear speakers?

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...5543a5a63ae205c

I think they should fit in without metal trimming and should provide a nice mid range infill and some extra base without a subwoofer. I have Infinity Kappa's in the doors and can make my ears hurt listening to some of my favorite trance tracks! Anyhow I want more mid base base with less volume but can't, just can't consider a sub in the boot. After spending about 20 hours reading simply hundreds and hundreds of posts on rear speakers wiring options sound stages drowning etc etc etc - I see that without seriously compromising space there is nowhere else to stick a sub.

The HU is Alpine 9853R (50W per channel) which has speaker delay so I can get the stage wherever I want it... I read that raiding a floppy disk drive power lead will provide the necessary plugs for the stock loom connector and onto those I can piggy back my rear speaker cables.

Not interested in Spods at all.

I'll probably get some Lucid rear panels just so as I can keep the uncut originals....

Anyone any thoughts on that lot?

Genesis Audiophile GEN-A13MB magnet is a little to large and the mounting depth is more than 2" for installing on the rear panels without some metal trimming.

s2kmugen had his 6" sub installed in the passenger footwell:

Where did you find the data on the magnet size of the Genesis range? I searched high and low without luck...

Think it would do the trick though?

If you want more mid bass, mounting the woofer(s) behind the seat(s) will muffle the sound and you get almost nothing. The rear speakers on rear panels are for filled, not a good place for good bass. If you want more bass in cabin, the only place you can install a small 6" woofer is in the passenger footwell without a lot of works like s2kmugen did to his car.

I believe Modifry has some instructions on how to make a passenger foot well enclosure for an 8" sub (I think....might be 6.5"). Unless you have a lot of 6'2" friends riding with you, you will never notice the missing space, as it is placed at the front of the passenger foot well, and is slanted to look like the OEM floor boards.

Also, have you looked into WLAURENT enclosures? Those take up almost NO space in the trunk (boot). Also, with a tool well enclosure, there is still plenty of usable space, as long as you get a goot speaker grill to protect the speaker. I can still fit all the stuff in the trunk that I need to. The tool well was designed that, in case of a flat tire, you can place the deflated tire and rim in the trunk.
