Rear Speaker Feedback Wanted
I have had both. Rear panel installed and now S-Pod. I had the same speakers installed in both locations. the S-Pods are worth every penny. They look great and sound fantastic.
One of the issues with installing the behind the seats is the limited amount of space. Very few 4" speakers will fit, with even a smaller number of 5.25". It is not just a depth issue, but a diameter issue as well. Most high end speakers will not fit without cutting the crossmember that supports the roll hoops.
The S-Pod on the other hand will fit a larger magnet and just about any 5.25" speaker.
But since cost is a consern the DIY rear speaker install is by far the cheapest way to get it done.

S-Pods are NOT sony. It is a speaker mounting kit developed by a member of S2ki. You can install just about any 5 1/4" speaker you want. Check out the "audio system" link in my sig, or look for the "S-pod consolodated info" thread in this forum.
