Rear speaker prewired to OEM stereo ?
Just wondering if our cars are prewired for rear speakers and if so where is the location of the wires. Do our factory stereos have rear channels to power a pair of speakers ?

Yes but, no wiring out of the OEM HU. My understanding is you will need an adapter or pins to the Head Unit to access these ouputs. Try Lucid.
The CD is not prewired - ithe install kit comes with a wire that you have to run to the trunk.
The rear speakers are not prewired. You need to insert (4) pins into your radio harness - got mine from the guy who makes spods. It is easiest to do with the connector unplugged from the radio if you have the radio code but I managed mine with the connector plugged. From those pins you run wire on the side of the center console to the rear, and from there to you speakers.
Lucid is an acceptable option if you can wait weeks for them to ship and you don't mind being completely ignored by them. You can also buy a harness at most radio shops that plugs into the s2000 radio (so you can use it in another car) for $4-$5 and remove the pins from that.
And yes, if you are looking for a response within 36 minutes on Labor Day you are probably talking to yourself
I don't think we have anyone "standing by".

I believe that 3 wire plug is the defroster for the hardtop.

3 for 3, batting 1.000!
-Not prewired for speakers
-Plug back there is for defroster
-Must stick wires/pins in vehicle harness to get rear speakers. (Or buy a modified harness

I followed this URL and article to install my rear speakers and it went flawlessly. The sound is not super but it does fill in the road noise on long trips.

Like oatnet said, I have one available for $20. No waiting. Beginning with the 04's, no harness is necessary. They have 4 wires dedicated to rear speakers at the back of the HU.
Does anyone have pictures of the '04 showing the wires to the rear? I'd like to know what wires to tap into before I actually take the thing apart.
Great Thanks,
Kyle.
