Default Rear Tweeters on Roll bar 06 S2K

hello!

i wanted to know how these are wired? is there a cross over or inline resistor from the HU to these 4 tweeters in the roll bar.

I am asking because i wanted to add an amp and use these tweeters for now.

if any one has the whole wire diagram for the 06 head unit and speaker layout that would just make my year!

thanks in advance guys

I know where the wires are run, but I never looked to see where the inline resister was (I can't imagine that they would have used anything but an inline resister).

yeah because i was going to run a 5ch amp for the entire system with OEM head unit and adding a sub.

i think teh door speakers are string enough and the rear tweaters shoudl be ok but if there is a filter already in the line then i would have to splice my own wires so i can use the X-over from the amp.

this is why i am asking the question...

thanks for your input i appreciate it. At least i got some where (less head scratching)

There is no filter in line - you will need to cross them off. They are actually a mid/tweeter and play fairly low for a 1" driver (I'd guess around 200-220hz). If you send 'em anything lower, they distort like hell I crossed them off at 200.

There is a pretty decent thread all about these speakers here:

I tried fitting other drivers in there, but it's just too tight.

I have the head unit running these. The amp runs the component speakers.

I am putting in tweeters tomorrow in the hoops. These are 4 ohm. I want to run them off the headunit. The components will run off an amp. How do I wire them to run at 4 ohm?

Thanks!

Does your HU leave your front channels on even when using RCAs?

If so, you are going to be using all 4 channels for the tweeters, to run off two you'd need 8 ohm (or 2 ohm) speakers then wire them in either series or parallel depending on load.

You could also wire those 4 ohm speakers to creat an 8 ohm load but good luck with hearing them.

Using the front channel for the rear tweeters and front components sounds like I'd lose the ability to fade.

Do I need to run new wire or should I use the stock wire for this purpose?
