*nods*

i read the link and recognize what he must have done... but from the PIE statement they have on the site, it made it sound like it was an impossibility, not just a minor wiring issue...

That's exactly what i thought, and it's why I want to know exactly how this loop works. If it does that opens up all kinds of options for the stock '04 HU.

http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piehon03pcson.html - I emailed PIE and they told me that this indeed works for the 2004 Honda S2000.

The ground loop is not necessary but is RECOMMENDED because you'll hear a lot of disturbance when you accelerate and stuff. I got the ground loop at Radioshack for like $12.

You connect the PIE unit to the back of the HU, then connect the ground loop to the RCA ouput from the PIE unit, then into your IPOD.

oh... ok. so you're saying that he ground loop is just a ground loop filtering box. bah, those are what? $15 or less?

if this is what i think it is, it's just taking one/both of the RCA's negative leads and tying them to ground...

i would be willing to bet that if you powered the IPOD off the car, the ground loop would be solved w/o the filter... but, i could be wrong... i'm just working on theory here...

The ipod, if externally powered, might act as that ground loop, grounding the whole circuit. It's interesting how logjam just recently changed thier tune. There used to be a warning : not compatable with 2004 s2ooo's! Now i guess it is compatible, with a ground loop somewhere in the circuit.
