remote clicker not working

Guys - can anyone help me with advice o this. I have a 2001 with 276,000 miles on it. My remote seems to be misbehaving. The little red light glows but I can't lock or unlock the doors nor remotely open the trunk. Any trouble shooting tips?

Manually lock the doors from inside. Locking the drivers door locks the passenger's too.

Tried replacing the 15 year old battery?

This test will confirm the circuits inside the car work. If this doesn't work it's possible something is disconnected or a fuse is blown. If it works try the battery.
