Remote Trunk Access with car on?
I'm sure everyone has realized the annoyance of having to turn the car off to get into your trunk since the center compartment is locked. Has anyone rewired the keyless module to allow the trunk release to work when the car is on? I haven't looked into it yet, but perhaps someone already has...
That mod is so you can press the trunk release switch from the center compartment when the car is on.
I'm interested in being able to use the remove control trunk release while the car is on (and the center compartment is locked.)

Doh, I'm an idiot and didn't read haha... From my basic knowledge of how that works, I'm guessing it's not as easy as a simple re-wire... most factory stuff like that is setup to where it won't even enable the feature (ie no output from the alarm/keyless module) when the car is on... But then again, I havn't looked into the S2000 system so I could be wrong.

There most likely is a relay in the system somewhere that kills the signal from the remote brain to the trunk actuator when the ignition is on. The problem would be finding which one it is. Ask MacGyver or Modifry. I think they are both electrical engineers and might have a spec sheet for the electical system (as Modifry designs elecrical bits for the S anyways.....he could probably answer this best).

Yeah, I'm sure it'd just be a matter of "fooling" the keyless module (not sure where it is yet) to think the ignition is off. I haven't looked through the Helms module yet...
I'm also an EE.

Oh totally. He's the man for the S.
I just want to look at the service manual (not anywhere near me) to see if the keyless module has any other inputs that may prevent the keyless remote from operating (i.e. a keysense wire.)

i wish that I could help more on how the wiring was done, but my viper alarm can open the trunk. I often do that right while it hangs from the ignition. That's usually for a, "Honey just throw your shit in the trunk and lets go! We're late!" start.
