Default Remote Trunk Release 'Dead'

I can't open my trunk with the key FOB or the button in the glove box. I've checked/replaced both the 30 amp fuse (# 54 under the hood), and the 15 amp (#26) in the fuse block inside the car. I've put a meter on the leads at the latch and I am NOT GETTING 12 volts ('0' volt reading) when I activate either the FOB or the switch. I am getting 12 volts to the trunk light, which shares the same wiring harness....

Any thoughts on what else to check?

thanks.

Bad trunk release solenoid. Unfortunately, its in the trunk. Open the trunk with the key and figure out if its got any juice.

As I mentioned in my original post, I do NOT have 12v at the solenoid now. Yes, the fuses are good. Really hoping it's not a break in the wiring harness. Will be tough to find and repair.
