Default Removable substage install for autocrosser.

We did an istall for a local customer.

Thought that you guys would like to see it.

Equipment used.
eDi 6500s
eD NINe.2 (x2)
eDead v4 (15Sq. Ft)
13Kv.2 D2 (1)
Pioneer 5900IB

This was our first pioneer install as well. The deck really surprised me.

Front doors got eDead v4 treatment

The 650 mids fit into the doors like a glove. Could not be any easier with the spacers.

The 6500 tweeters though needed some creativity so the factory doors were modded a little bit. The tweeters were mounted from the back on a ABS plate that was fabricated and the door drilled to accomodate the tweeter install.

Door Mod for tweeter :

Tweeter parts for the install. The ABS plates were fabricated by hand.

Installed :

Door Shut :

Can't see much.

The amp rack :

The customer wanted to logos to be visible with the amps mounted at a angle. Turned out pretty darn good.

Pioneer snugly fit. Cover still goes down really well.

Grill that was made for this install had a nice touch to it.

Finished trunk pictures.

The trunk is still functional. The grill is thick enough you can set whatever you want on top of it and really hides well. We got 1cF out of the trunk space there. Worked out good.

Best part of it. The customer picking it up.

Look cool. You really should paint those 3/4inch spacer/baffle rings though... first rain storm and its over I coat mine with undercoating spray.

With the MDF baffles, coating them wasnt a requirement, as there shouldnt be any moisture in the door panel. If it was required, we could easially take it to the paint room and coat it.

As for the removable part. The amps are mounted to a rack that slides out.

While you cannot see the distrobution blocks that allow for easy removal. Its all there.

The subwoofer enclosure also pulls up and out very easy.

Oh I didn't realize his car wasn't a daily driver. It just seems like it would be... given it needed to be removable.

We unfortuantely do not have the vehicle here anymore, as for what the tweeters look like from the front side, you cannot tell it is there, until you look straight on. Its really stealth looking.

The customer was very pleased.

As for the amp mounting, its not my favorite aswell. But in person still looks good, and has a purpose, ease of removal.

well...im assuming you listened to the system once installed. Would you recommend putting the tweeters in this position again? I thought one of the major upsides to components was to seperate the tweeter from the woofer; therefore, you get a better "ambience"(correct term?). By placing the tweeter right next to the speakers...doesnt this defeat the purpose?
