Default removing radio in 07

Hi i was wondering how i can remove the radio on an 07 s2k. I just purchased an IPOD integration kit and want to remove the radio so i can get to the back of the radio. Is there a safe and efficient way to remove it without scratching anything or messing up anything? tHanks!

Pop of the center console with your hands, there are I think 6 snap clips. You could take the shift knob off if your worry about scratching things. Otherwise, just slide the console back like 1"-2". Grab the radio cover and gently pull it toward you. Use a flat head screwdriver to gently pry the two main snaps on the top of the vents. Don't pull the whole thing out too far yet. You'll have to disconnect the passenger seat belt light. After that, you'll just have 4 philips to unscrew to get the radio out. I did mines 3 times in one night and didn't even take the knob or the console off. Good luck

Jrz has it right, but I'm going reiterate again because I just installed my headunit and speakers yesterday.

1. Pull up on the center console. Start from the back where the elbow rest is and pull. There will be 2 clips that pop out. Then slide your fingers toward the front of the car and pop out the 2 clips in the center near the roof button. Then all the way in front, near the shifter, are another 2 clips that need to be popped out.
2. If you want, you can remove the shift knob to remove the entire console out of the way. It's not necessary, but I found it easier. I wrapped the bottom nut of the knob with blue tape so I wouldn't scratch the bolt. Used a 14mm wrench and it came off easy.
3. Carefully lift up on the entire console and unplug the 3 plugs for the roof, defrost, and hazards. It's a pain to pull them out, just take your time. Then lift the console up and out, taking care not to scratch the E-brake handle.
4. Put the gear shifter in reverse to give you maximum room.
5. Open the radio door and grab the door from the sides/bottom. Pull straight back. You need to put more force into it than you may be comfortable, but you won't break anything.
6. As the bottom pops up, pull on the upper portion near the vents and the entire thing should come out. Also unplug the green passenger airbag wire/harness thing. If you forget to plug it back in, the airbag light on the cluster will be on everytime the car is on.
7. After all that, it should be pretty self explanatory. There are 3 silver screws on each side of the headunit. Only unscrew the top and bottom of each side, as the middle one is the plastic bracket.

That's it! Good luck.

thanks guys! im gonna take my precious time because ive rushed in the past and it caused scratches in the interior and eventually spent more money. When i remove the center console can i get access to the rear of the glove box? im planning on putting my ipod in the glove and im going to drill a hole into the glove and bring the wire up.
